Javi reunited with his dad

After Juan had been out of town for 2 weeks for work, he was very excited to come home and Javi was very happy to see his papa again. Now, every evening, when his dad gets home, Javier will barely let me hold him, he just wants to be with his papa.

Dog Lover

Most of you know that I really like dogs, especially beagles. Well, it turns out that our dogs enjoy having a baby in the house, and I know that Javier will enjoy having our 3 dogs around. He also has a big stuffed puppy that he got his picture taken with last week. He also has a lot of clothes with puppies on them, so I thought he should wear a puppy outfit with his stuffed puppy.

I hope you are all enjoying school so far this year!

Javier is one month old!

I can't believe that my son is already a month old! It seems like he was just born last week. Before long, I will be back at Harmon with all the wonderful Harmon Hawks! Please let me know if there is an event at the school on a Saturday and I will try to bring my baby. He has changed a lot over the last month and is now starting to smile. Also, sorry to those of you who like other teams, but Javier, like his dad, is a Chargers' fan.

I hope that your Galileo testing went well and that you learned a lot about the cyber community and cyber safety.

I can't wait to see you all!

Javier's first bath

My baby got his first bath this week. I know it doesn't seem very exciting, but it was. He cried and cried while he was in his tub, but as soon as we wrapped him up in his duck towel, he was very comfortable. He slept really well afterward. Enjoy the picture!

I love hearing your comments! It makes me feel like I am there and I can't wait to see you all in October.

Mrs. C has her baby boy!!

My son was finally born on Saturday, August 16, 2008. If your birthday is on August 17th, he was almost born on your birthday because he came just 51 minutes before midnight.

Javier was 19 inches long and weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. when he was born, but lost 10 oz. after staying in the hospital for 3 days. The nurses made sure to let me know that it is normal for babies to lose up to 10% of their weight before they go home. Luckily, he gained almost all of it back after just 2 days of being at home. His doctor weighed him at 1 oz. less than his birth weight.

He is very happy to be home and is making friends with Mrs. C's beagles. The beagles are happy to have the baby home.

Keep checking back for my messages and I would love to hear how my students are enjoying the new school year without me.

Welcome Back to school Harmon Hawks!

To all of my wonderful students,

I wish I could be there to welcome you back to school and meet all the new students in my technology class. Unfortunately, my doctor says it could be unsafe for my baby if I return to school before he is born.

The good news is that I will be posting updates regularly, so you can see what I am up to and so you can see pictures of my baby when he arrives!

I hope you are all well behaved for my substitute teacher, Ms. Hendricks. She will get to decide if you are good enough to visit my web page every week.
